Philadelphia Eagles Select LB Nakobe Dean With the 83rd Pick

Date:

The Eagles have finally done it and leave it to them to get a steal in the later round. With the 83rd pick in the NFL Draft, Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles have selected Georgia LB Nakobe Dean. Yes, it really did happen, and they waited patiently for it as well.

The team has needed a player with Dean’s ability in the middle of their defense. They haven’t truly invested in the position since the signing of Nigel Bradham. After Bradham, they went through their spell of terrible signings but leave it to Howie Roseman to finally deliver a stud linebacker his way.

Dean was a part of the championship Georgia team and is now reunited with his big guy upfront in Jordan Davis. Dean was a project first-round pick that continued to fall in the draft due to medical concerns. With rumors swirling that this could be a redshirt season for Dean, the Eagles finally have their guy at linebacker, and it will only be a matter of time until he’s filling up National highlights reels every week.

Dean enters a linebacker group that is full of youth and two new faces. With Haason Reddick and Kyzir White lining up with Dean over the next year or so, the former Georgia product is in a position to truly excel in this defense.
