Baltimore man charged in 30th Street Station stabbing

A Baltimore man who allegedly stabbed an employee early Monday morning inside a bathroom at 30th Street Station has been charged with attempted murder and other crimes.

Authorities believe 39-year-old Adiren Mayo pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed a 41-year-old man who was working at the station during an altercation inside the restroom at around 12:45 a.m. Monday.

The employee was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with two wounds to his chest, investigators said. He is expected to survive, according to police.

Mayo was apprehended a short time after the stabbing. He was charged Tuesday with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

Bail for Mayo was set at 10% of $150,000, according to court records.
